Mordialloc Bypass Highway

Kyriacou Architects were the Urban Design & Architecture lead as part of the McConnell Dowell Decmil JV to deliver this important new 9 km twin carriage freeway for Melbourne’s south east.

Leading the Urban Design & Architecture, Kyriacou worked with the multi-disciplinary team including Jacobs to design the 5 new road bridges and interchanges, noise walls, retaining walls and abutments, and an extensive network of shared use paths along the entire length, connecting to the existing paths and neighbourhoods, and the integrated and crafted landscapes. The attention to urban design and contextual design ensured the delivery of high quality spaces for public amenity, and sensitive considerations to the various residential areas, and interfacing parks, recreation areas and wetlands and natural habitat areas.
