Mooroolbark Station

Kyriacou, in collaboration with BKK Architects, Jacobs and ASPECT Studios delivered Lilydale Station as part of Victoria’s Level Crossing Removal Project programme. The new station features an iconic clock-tower, lifts, enhanced disability access, lighting and CCTV. A canopy covering three-quarters of the station platform will provide shelter from the elements. Soft, earthy tones, weathered steel, zinc and Coldstream stone has been applied to the new station in response to its local context and community preference.

A new open space was created for community gatherings with landscaping combining tens of thousands of trees, plants, shrubs, and grasses.

A new multi-deck car park for Mooroolbark Station has also been designed to double commuter car parking for the community. Additional art installation opportunities have been introduced from community input to celebrate local history and located in the station bus interchange.
