Caulfield Station Covered Walkways

The project objective was to improve the customer experience through the amenity, weather protection and improved safety of pedestrian movements.  These objectives were successfully addressed within the constraints of the existing station precinct to provide two iconic new covered walkways. They enhance the user experience and complement the heritage fabric and significance of the station as a heritage registered place. The canopies were designed to be thin, elevated and floating planes above the walkways to reduce the visual bulk and not diminish the significance of the elaborate heritage buildings. The project was well received by all stakeholders, and entered in the annual Victorian Architectural awards.
